The city of
Bristol is easily accessed by the M4/M5 motorways and has an airport about 15 miles from the garden.
Unless you
are coming by train or coach, there
is no need to go through the city centre. |

By Airplane:
The airport and the garden are located to the west of the centre. Take a taxi directly to the garden giving the driver the above map. It will cost about £20.
If you prefer to go by bus, these go every 30 min to the bus station where you can pick up a connection to the garden.
By Bus:
The following buses travel to the region of the garden although none goes immediately past the entrance.
No 1 : Comes from the train station and city centre every 30 min. The bus reads Cribbs Causeway or Broomhill. Alight at the top of Blackboy Hill.
No 54 and 54B also go to Blackboy Hill and the Downs.

By car:
The best exit from the M5 is at junction 17. If you set your milometer at zero when coming off the motorway , follow signs for Bristol(W) and the A4018.
1.8 miles: After about 5 roundabouts you reach the roundabout at Passage Rd. Continue on the A4018 to the city centre along a dual carriageway.
3.9 miles : You will go up a hill and pass Badmington School on the right.
4.2miles : You reach another roundabout with a small hut next to it. Turn right here and then first left into Saville Rd.
Continue down this road until you get to a set of traffic lights where you turn right.
After 100 yards, turn right again into Stoke Park Rd.
You will find the Botanic Garden on the right after 100 yards. There is limited parking within the garden, so you may be best to park on the road.
If you are attending a course, the hall is in the large building at the main entrance for the Holmes.
