CHG Peony and Xuè Day – Sunday 10 May 2026
Join us at the Bristol Chinese Herb Garden for a full-day CPD seminar exploring the classical and clinical significance of xuè 血. Timed to coincide with the flowering of the Garden’s peony collection, the day brings together Mazin Al-Khafaji, Tony Harrison and Conny Cooper for teaching, guided exploration of the Garden and practical clinical discussion.
Set among living medicinal plants, the seminar offers an opportunity to deepen understanding of blood physiology, its relationship with qì, and the role of blood herbs in clinical practice.
UK Conference of Chinese Medicine 6-7 June 2026
The Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine (RCHM), in collaboration with the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), invites practitioners, scholars and students to the UK Conference of Chinese Medicine 2026. Taking place on 6–7 June at Kents Hill Park in Milton Keynes, this two-day event explores the theme Internal Landscapes, bringing together leading speakers for a rich programme of lectures, discussions and practical sessions across herbal medicine and acupuncture. The conference offers a valuable opportunity to deepen clinical understanding, engage with classical perspectives and reconnect with colleagues from across the Chinese medicine community.
Friday Herbal Gathering – CPD and Community - Friday 5th June 2026
On Friday 5 June, from 12:00 to 18:00, we will be hosting a special herbal gathering on the day before the Joint Conference (6–7 June). The afternoon will combine focused herbal CPD, with talks by Mazin Al_Khafaji, Martin Powell and Andrew Flower, with a relaxed opportunity to reconnect with fellow practitioners, exchange ideas and enjoy time together as a professional community.

Join us for a full day exploring Chinese herbal medicine in the unique setting of the RCHM Chinese Herb Garden at the University of Bristol Botanic Garden.
Designed especially for acupuncturists, this practical and experiential day introduces the fundamentals of Chinese herbal medicine through direct engagement with the living plants used in clinical practice. Participants will have the opportunity to see important medicinal herbs growing in the garden, learn about their traditional uses, and explore practical ways that herbal knowledge can enrich acupuncture practice.
The day includes guided tours of the herb collections, hands-on practical sessions, discussion of training pathways in Chinese herbal medicine, and an exploration of culinary herbs and dietary therapy for seasonal health.
Participants will also make their own herbal preparations and receive plants and handouts to take home.
